The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is the foremost Pan-African multilateral financial institution devoted to financing and promoting intra- and extra-African trade. The Bank was established in October 1993 by African governments, African private and institutional investors, and non-African investors. Its two basic constitutive documents are the Establishment Agreement, which gives it the status of an international organization, and the Charter, which governs its corporate structure and operations.

Strengthening Quality Standards Across Africa Afreximbank’s Oluranti Doherty, Managing Director for Export Development recently met with senior leaders from Bureau Veritas Group led by Bertrand Martin (SVP Africa) to review and enhance their collaboration on the expansion of African Quality Assurance Centres (AQACs). Since 2019, Afreximbank has been implementing AQACs to support African businesses by providing world-class testing, inspection, and certification services. This initiative ensures that "Made in Africa" products meet global standards, facilitating access to export markets and improving quality for domestic consumption. Did you know?
