Afreximbank and ZEP-RE Launch Trans-Africa Bond Alliance (TABA) Today, Afreximbank and ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company) officially launched the Trans-Africa Bond Alliance (TABA), a groundbreaking initiative to transform cross-border trade in Africa. TABA will bridge the insurance capacity gap, empower African contractors, and streamline the movement of goods across the continent. By providing robust transit guarantee mechanisms, boosting trade efficiency, and promoting seamless cross-border commerce, TABA will reduce trade barriers and costs. This new venture will align with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat (AfCFTA), creating a unified market and simplifying customs processes, allowing businesses to operate with confidence. Mr. Denys Denya, Senior Executive Vice President of Afreximbank, was present at the launch and emphasized, "Through this collaboration, our goal is not to displace local operators but to strengthen their capacity and efficiency, paving the way for a seamless trade system across Africa. This initiative will support economic integration and bring us closer to realizing a unified and prosperous Africa." Afreximbank’s collaboration with ZEP-RE brings decades of expertise in trade finance and insurance, creating a standardized framework to support efficient trade toward enhancing the competitiveness of African exports and improving market access for businesses across the continent. #Afreximbank #ZEP-RE #TABA #AfricaTrade #AfCFTA
