The Basketball Africa League (BAL), a partnership between the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA), is a new professional league comprised of 12 club teams from across Africa.
The BAL builds on the club competitions that FIBA has organized in Africa and marks the first time the NBA has collaborated to run a league outside of North America.
In the BAL’s fourth season, the 12 teams will be divided into four conferences of four teams each.
Each conference will play a 15-game group stage in which each team will play the other five teams in its conference once. The top eight teams from the group stage will advance to the BAL playoffs, which will be played in single elimination rounds of three.
